I've been working with Lee at Chimera Kennels since I purchased my first Swinford three years ago and I have purchased several more for myself, friends, and family members . Most breeders are salesmen and should be if that's there way of income but, Lee was and has always been upfront with me about his opinions of breedings he has had or currently have, what potential a pup has at a young age, and pretty blunt when evaluating a dog which to some might be offensive but, for a breeder or a person looking for a particular dog it is much appreciated. I've visited  a number of kennels and none rival Lee's. The condition of his dogs and  upkeep of his yard and kennels show you his dedication to his program and keeping this outstaning breed alive and recognized. I've never come across such a universal dog. Take a look at the video footage or read some of the posted stories of these amazing animals. Thanks for everything. Keep up the good work Lee! (I'm sure you will.)

Lee has put a very good program together using good education and good instincts.  I am most impressed with his commitment to his program even after the pups have grown and gone away.  He is that rare example of the term "responsible breeder.  It has been a peasure to work with him

My experience with Lee and his kennel has been awesome. I have bought two Swinfords from him, and I couldn't ask for a better dog as a friend and as a protection dog. Lee know his stuff and if someone says he doesn't, they are crazy. I think he should be the dog whisper on tv haha. Lee has done an outstanding job with his kennel and program. I hope he keeps up the hard work, as he has some very nice dogs. He has put together a great program. Lee, thanks for the dogs and all the help along the way.

I don't have swinfords I'm working with different bandogs, but lee does have some dogs I really, really like. I can easily see his bloodline helping anyones program. The thing that has impressed me most with Lee is the help he has given me and my dogs from advice to protection training, even though I don't have his dogs. Thats not something most breeders/trainers would do.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Everyone's post here means a lot to me.

Not to single anyone out as all of you have been very supportive and appreciated; however, I must say...Johnny, that comment coming from you means a lot, especially since I know you have dealt with a lot of people over the years.

How nice to hear dog people saying nice things about other dogs people, something so rare in the dog world now adays. I have talked off and on with you Lee over the years since just before your first Chimera website and you have certainly done amazing work and raised the bar IMO for the "bandog" type.

I oneday hope to have some blood from your kennel and Johhny's up here in Canada.

I  agree. It really says something about a breeders dogs and about the breeder himself when he has this many people speaking up to say so many good things. Especially on the internet where it's a lot more popular to hate everything then to say anything good.

P.S. Angela we talked not to long ago about my chicken on a string test from youtube. How is isis are her eyes still blue, and how big is she now?

Truth be told, I didn't like Lee's dogs when we first met, as I don't prefer dogs that big. This is nothing personal though. Don't think I'm down grading Lee or his program, cause any dog man can see he knows what he's doing. I guess their massive size just intimidated me a bit, since I weigh only 135lbs and also because Lee has invited me to agitate upcoming prospects on a few occations. They are more than twice the size of the dogs I am used to working. I just came to check out what he had to offer and to inquire about one of his APBT, Captain Skip.  I ended up liking Skip enough that I purchased him about 5 years ago and ended up using him several times in our own APBT beeding program. The years go by pretty quick don't they.

During this time, I can easily see the improvement in his line, even though I still don't "love" big dogs. My 1st love is the traditional APBT, but Lee did eventually win me over to the Swinford as well by allowing me to raise/handle one of his smaller dogs, Chili Pepper. Although Chili is on Lee's yard right now, owning Chili allowed me to get to know the breed better by providing me the opportunity to better understand the breed's loyal, stability, and protective nature. I miss my BIG BABY, and can't wait to get her back. Besides my American Bulldog Chance, Chili is the BIG DOG of my yard when she is here, and fits in well with the bulldawgs. IMO, she's naturally everything the Swinford is supposed to be. I was really never interested in training/working her because she is very loyal to her premises and naturally shows a bold protective nature.  I've learned a lot from loyal dog owners such as Lee throughout the years. People ask me why I chose the APBT over other breeds to raise/handle? It's easy, to hopefully clear up the misunderstandings about the breed. Besides, they can't speak for themselves. But, if the APBT ever became extinct, the Swinford K9 would be my next choice.

Thanks Lee for the invite!

We have corresponded with Lee for years now and he has always been knowledgeable, kind, and courteous. In business he is honest, fair, and never pushy. He has given us intelligent advice on a number of occasions, even concerning other dog breeds and breeders. I have recommended Lee and the Swinford to friends and family, and would recommend him to anyone looking for an ethical, passionate breeder producing awsome American dogs.

Good work and God bless.
