These 3 young gentlemen travelled from TX, worked a few dogs, and ended up taking 6 dogs home...4 pups and 2 adults to use as hog catch dogs back on their hunts. After getting home last night at midnight, they tried Annie-Oakley (1 of the adults they got) and she has already caught a few hogs. Here they are working Preacher-Man.

Sounds like you sold your kennel LOL. I hope the pups work out you will have to keep us posted.  I have a question about the pics. It looks like you are giving back pressure on the prong collar in the pics.  Is this the case?  Do you only handle Preacher with a prong collar?  I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I was wondering about the prong in the pics and how you are using it.

Wow! Good eye!

I would also like to know what is the reason for the prong collar?

It helps when working on control, such as an out. Also, these guys, although used to working hogs and horses, are new to dogs, so I wanted to keep Preacher on his nicest behavior. :D

How does the Swinford K-9 work as a Hog Dog compared to an American Bulldog?

To answer that, one would need to test for it, and I don't really do so. I test for loyal companionship and protection instinct since the Swinford was bred to be a family companion guardian, but the certainly have plenty of prey drive.
