He is doing very well. Although we "sold him" (we have a deposit), he will be here until mid-March and we plan on collecting semen from him to use in our program. He is a very nice dog IMO.

Tate is a great dog. He is very explosive, loaded with drive, and has excellent hips...but, I sold him basically for one reason. Finances. Sounds lame, but we spend a LOT of money on dogs...about 600 per month JUST ON DOG FOOD...as we feed quality food and supplement with meats as well. Vet bills, kennel/dog supplies, training equipment, etc. are expenses on top of this. So, since we didn't have many dogs or pups for sale this year, our "dog account" was getting low. Fortunately, I make my living as a teacher, and not from just a dog business. If I have to, I can use my personal finances to help our program when needed, but I do like the kennel to pay for itself if it can. I like Tate a lot, and he is great in the house, is great with kids, and loves time with the family...and he is trained far enough in PP to be in service as a PP dog...and I am taking him to have semen collected so we could breed to him in the future should we wish. Transferring him to a new handler will take a little patience, but once it is done, he will fit right in a good home.

Linebaugh is doing great, and we have been using him as a stud in our program lately. If I had to guess, I would say he is about 110#, but I haven't weighed him in a long time. I have gotten to a point that it doesn't matter to me how much a dog weighs. Instead, I judge them on power rather than weight. Turns out I will be keeping 3 of the Linebaugh x Lucile pups for evaluating for our own program. Maybe we will sell another one later, but for now they will be remaining here. If I was a rich man, Tate wouldn't be leaving at all...but at this stage of the game I know he is worthy and I will "keep" him around for my breeding program by having him "on tap."
