Lee, I was wondering if you have had a dogs semen collected and stored before? I was looking into it for a male Stafford of mine who is going to Minnesota, but the info I gathered made it seem VERY EXPENSIVE (DNA Profile, collecting, storing/ freezing, AI, etc..). It seemed more economical to just retain joint stud rights and ship any females that I want bred up there.

I suspect you can plan on the use of frozen semen being about $1000. The place I contacted charges $350 for the collection with the first year of storage being 10/month for storage I think...which I plan on prepaying. This totals 470. Then unlike using fresh semen which is simply inseminated in the reproductive tract through the vagina and into the uterus, the use of frozen semen typically uses much less semen and is therefore done surgically AI. By the time you do the collection, storage, and surgical AI...I think it will cost about $1000.
