This video shows our boy Preacher-Man being worked by Johnny Courville of LGKs. Excuse the "casual" camera work. This wasn't intended to be a "demo" vidoe, but still...I thought I would post it since it does show some stick hits and such that are not typically seen in many sports that claim to be about "PP" work. Preacher-Man is certainly comfortable with this type of work.

FYI, I know his out sucks. I never took the time to train Preacher-Man a controlled out as we did Bullette or some of the other dogs.
Preacher-Man is my "1911" and is "cocked and locked." His "safety" is "Be nice." He only has permission to get aggressive when either I tell him to or should someone attack. In either situation, go goes into "guard," but still no "bullet" is fired for he is still either in my home, in his kennel, in our vehicle, or on a leash. Only should a criminal (or decoy) continue to attack does the "bullet" get fired (only then do I release the dog). IMO, releasing a dog is kind of like pulling the trigger. I don't pull a trigger and then concern myself with calling a bullet back, for should it come to that point, I am no longer concerned with the criminal's well being. At that point, I am concerned about getting my family safely away from the criminal. Now, should I compete in sports, that would obviously have to change.

Preacher is one bad bandog. Videos don't do him justice. He is way more powerful then he looks on video. So here is a thought I had. What if there are multiple attackers? Would Preacher continue slaying one attacker when you needed him to bite another attacker? I personally think the out is a good tool to have for a PP dog. I'm not saying a quick out like they require in FR. But a timely out seems like a good idea to me. Do you think a timely out makes the fight weaker?

I know Preacher will work multiple attackers, but we have only done those scenerios with sleeves which can be slipped...and he always comes off the dead sleeve to quickly go to the next fight. Of course, this is on leash with sleeves. On a suit, I imagine it would be more difficult since it isn't slipped. That said, that IMO is a very justifiable reason for the out.
