I've never met one, so this is all opinion. I personally don't like most of the constitiuant breeds, as working dogs. With excellent selection and hard culling they could be better working dogs than their fore fathers, but I've personally never seen a video of one working, the only thing I've seen is 1 picture of a dog lunging, and that doesn't tell much. There may well be plenty of pictures and video of them working great, that I've just never seen, but if there isn't it's not a good sign for the working ability of the breed. It seems to me if they worked then someone would show it. Again this is my opinion without having met one, I would suggest if he's looking for a working dog he should stay with proven stock.

I have spoken with Gypsy on many occations several years ago. It isn't the type of dog that I personally prefer, but they can be effective guardians. They are "shown" in competition, but the organization that they are shown in is the PPDA, and that organization is opperated by the breeders, so it really isn't an objective measure. Also, the promotor of the breed supports muzzle law legislation and says "ban the bite." Too much propaganda IMO.

To me the Canis Panther is a Doberman that has been crossbred and still is a Doberman. The fact that their some different colors were produced is not a distinction of a NEW breed.
