Hi Lee. I know you really like the Sorrels bloodline of APBT, but I have what might be a touchy question. Why did you choose Bert's dogs instead of using Tatonka dogs since his ex wife runs the kennels and it's Sorrel's blood as well? I understand if you don't want to answer this question, and if you don't, please delete the post. I'm just curious as it looks like she has great, sound dogs as well.
Thanks!! | |

It was a matter of trust. I trusted Bert, and didn't feel the same way about her. She had a few dogs that seemed ok to me, but I had some doubts about some of them. Although she ran her own program, I don't think she bred her dogs to the same standard as Bert's yard.

So would you say her dogs are more pet quality than working prospects? I'm just curious because I like the look of her tri colored dogs. I know Bert had some as well but it seems to be more dominant in her breedings.

The only stud she has that I think is worth looking into is red bull.
The bitches she has that I think is worth looking into would be Daisey Might, INWA, ANKH, and maybe LEILANI.
The look the most like the dogs I saw from Bert's yard. Also, the pedigrees seem more believable. Finally, Bert told me that he was not much of a fan of the "black" dogs. Now, by that did he mean all "black" dogs or did he mean the "rottie" patterned dogs??? I don't know, and didn't ask. But, I know 90% of his dogs I saw repeatedly when on his yard were not tri colored nor were they black.

Hi everyone, I'm not too familiar with the tatonka dogs working just seen pictures of the dogs there. Like Mr Lee said they have a some good dogs there. Dianne jessup bought a tricoloured female from them i think last year or so. My favourite kennel is Howard's working pitbulls they have the best pits i have seen. I'm still in the dark as to whether there are any lines of purebred pitbulls with enough social aggresiion for protection work. I do not believe that all the dogs in olden times were used for fighting some of them must have worked on farms, protected family etc. And since they are close to american bulldogs which are good PP dogs i wonder why they are so few of them working in PP. Sorry for digressing. Thanks for the post.
