Is it ever too late to re connect with your dog?

Over the past  year or so, I've been a bad owner and pretty much let me dog stay outside with little to no attention from me. My wife and daughters have been really good about giving her attention, but I've let other things come before Foxy and it's time for a change!! I'm disgusted with myself and really feel the need to start giving her the love she needs and deserves.

Other than the obvious, spending more time with her, do any of you have any suggestions as to what I might do to build her confidence since she is a nervous dog and build the bond between us?

Thanks!!

It's certainly easier to connect with a puppy, but I don't think it's ever too late. The two biggest things that will form a bond with your dog are walks and motivational obedience training. These two things will help you and your dog communicate better. That will make a much stronger bond than just piling on the affection.

Walks and house time just working on the bond. Any training should be motivational with reward and praise.
