I have been doing prey exerecises with my dogs as of late, prey carries and just letting them hit the puppy sleeve with sends etc........ I was wondering how i can get my female bandog to hit the middle of the sleeve i have tried a few things that others told me to try, that said she does the same for the tugs, she bites at my hands......... and on the sleeve she bites the hand area and elbow? should this be encourage? is this her style? or should i try to encourage her to grip the middle? lee jhonny any advice?

Also what are some good loading teqniques that you guys use to get the dog loaded? is it go to load them? what about useing the clatter stick? i use it on my females, how ever the male will sometimes go for the stick unless he has a hold of the sleave, then it seems he gets more into it, but if i have the stick in my hand he will some times lunge for the stick and not the sleeve? bad or good? ,

clattter sticks make alot of noise and between the noise and movement they can actually become a prey item.... there is some easy ways to fix the targetting issues , but just give me a call sometime tonight and I will answer it would be easier to tell you on the phone then to explain in a post...

For starters..."Keep it simple." No need to overthink it.

Reward desired behavior.

When the dog targets properly, reward either with ACTION or a win (release of item).

If the dog doesn't target properly, don't offer the reward.

ALSO...incorperate MISSES when the dog doens't go to the right area. Let the dog get the grip with GOOD PRESENTATION and appropriate attempted strikes. Proper presentation is essential.

Perhaps invest in the Harddog Requisites sleeve known as the "Chomp" as it has a soft spot in the middle. It can help, but it won't be an automatic fix.

As for the clatter stick or whip...it really wouldn't matter which you use. HOW it is used is far more important. To get the dog to target the man or sleeve, offer the bite when the dog looks at the desired target.  Let me know how it goes.
