Some people may believe that a k9 message forum isn't the place for political discussion or candidacy support...but if we remember the statement..."Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," then I would disagree. I think we all have a responsibility to our country to carefully consider those we put in charge. Being the owner and SOLE financial supporter of this website, I would like to ask our views to consider and support Ron Paul for the republican nomination.

Don't get me wrong Ron Paul is a smart man and all but he's a gay hating racist.

Darron,
I hope you don't really believe that. Look at the man's record and don't believe that emotionally stimulating propaganda nonsense. Based upon looking at his VOTING RECORD, I strongly disagree with that accusation. His stance, views, and voting record promote equality more so than any other candidate...but you won't know that if you ignore his voting record...so special interest groups throw out the "racist" card in order to get you to ignore the voting record of the man because his voting record proves otherwise. Don't take that emotional nonsense bait. The "racist" accusation comes from groups that want YOU over look and/or ignore his voting record...in order to get people to hate a man before they know the man. The accusation promotes prejudice as the statement is a PRE-JUDGING LABEL in order to get people to hate the man without first looking at his ACTIONS and his record. The "racist" accusation get's people to "cop out" on doing the proper research about a person. Ron Paul states that Martin Luther King Jr. was one of his personal heroes.
Let's actually look at his record...what are the facts? Ron Paul has continually voted for equality and personal freedoms of all people. He has a libertarian view and believes in preserving the US constitutional rights for all people. His voting record shows himself to actually promote equality of all people more so than any other candidate.
His voting record proves he promotes equality for all races and many of his actions protect minorities from many current forms of suppression. He votes clearly state a position that people should be able to do what they want to do as long as they don't harm others and accept personally accountability for their actions. He believes and VOTES that the Federal Government should stay out of our personal lives and personal choices. He is a libertarian and has a voting record and a lifetime of action that opposes racism and such accusations.
He supports the sanctity of life by opposing abortion. It has been said that abortion was initially part of a racist plan to restrict the growth of minorities in America, and Ron Paul opposes this action. Statistics show that approximately 80% of America is white, less than 13% black, and 7-8% other. Abortion clinics are often placed in inner cities and not in the sub-urban areas. Why is this? Is it an accident or did some racists plan that? Ron Paul opposes abortion and the supression of rights for not only all people, but also the unborn. Over 30% of abortions are from black women while the country is less than 13% black. Statistics show black women are 3 times as likely to have an abortion as are white women, while Hispanic women are more than 2 times as likely. It has been said that abortion was actually designed to be a CRUEL and racist tool restrict minority growth in America. Ron Paul has always voted PROTECT freedom for all people...including the unborn's right to life and reverse what disporportionally kills more minorities every year than any and all "hate" groups combined.
If one looks at his voting record, he actually supports free market and small business. This is a great equalizer for people of any lifestyle or race. His voting record actually supports a libertarian view of constitutional freedoms. He believes in keeping America a land of freedom and opportunity. I like the fact that he supports free market, as that allows ANYONE with an idea. He is for reducing the powers of the Fed. He is for increasing state rights. He is for open market competition. He is against entitlements. He believes if you want something; don't ask for it...just go get it by working for it. He believes in Freedom combined with accountability. He is against sending billions of dollars overseas, but values education in our home land. He is against a REQUIRED by law health plan...as he believes people should be able to opt out. I don't see any reason why people that practice good personal health should be required to pay for the health plan of those that don't exercise, that smoke, and eat at McDonalds 5 times a week...as these are not unavoidable "pre-conditioned" situations, these are CHOICES we make.
As a supporter of the right to bear arms, he believes all people should have the right to protect their freedoms and property. I like this as well.
Personally, I see him as one of the LEAST racist candidates because basically he says, do what you want, accept accountability, don't harm others, and leave the government out of our personal lives. I like that myself. It is frustrating to me personally that people often use race or sexual preferences being used as a political issue in order to get people to overlook the facts and voting records of various candidates. You have to look at the facts instead of emotionally based propaganda.
Some people fear true empowerment of personal independence...such as the media, socialist political groups, and great suppressors (big business CEOs that you can't trust and that control the media). America needs to once again become the land of opportunity for those that are willing to work for it. That statement has no pre-requisites of race or sex unless one personally assigns conditions to it. Personally, I share Morgan Freeman's view on racism. The bottom line is people need to move forward. The only way we will ever move beyond racism as a country is if we quit talking about it and eliminate any and all forms of legal separation...including special interest and entitlement groups. Let a man be a man. Let a woman be a woman. In other words, let's not box people into unnecessary labels. No pre-conceived conditions, just INDIVIDUAL people with equal rights and/or opportunities. (Click on this link and witness Morgan Freeman's view on racism. It is an excellent video and I wish I knew how to embed it in this post).
Unfortunately, there is a lot of propaganda about Ron Paul because he is a Washington DC outsider in some ways. Propaganda groups hold it against him that many years ago there was a newspaper that used his name "The Ron Paul Report." That magazine was printed for about 20 years...and some people dug up about 3 potentially racist statements being published in that journal that Ron Paul says himself says he did not write, did not know where in the reports, and has both spoken against and voted against. We are talking about 20 years of reports. Do you really think he wrote everything ever written in 20 years of news reports even if it used his name? Once those statements were brought to his attention, what did Ron Paul actually do? He in fact stated he doesn't speak like that and has in fact spoken against such types of statements. He said let's cut the chase and look at my stance on racism as this is what the accusation was trying to suggest. He has not only actively spoken against racism, but he has always voted against such. Instead of listening to hate speech propaganda, I would suggest looking at his voting record. If we look at Ron Paul's voting record instead of listening to hate talk from people that try to control America's energy via emotional propaganda...by eliciting emotional response from various politically motivated groups, I think you will get a better view of how he is possibly the MOST liberating candidate of all. Special interest groups/people want to hide the truth of the man, and one of the best ways to do that is to get people so emotional thatt hey ignore the facts.
If we look at his voting record, we will see he is against any form of harming others, against any form of parasitism, is against the idea of government becoming involved in special interest groups, he doesn't believe the government should police our personal lives or police the world, and he promotes the government's stance should be equal freedoms and opportunity for all. He promotes the preservation of constitutional freedoms.
Once we look at his record, one could conclude Ron Paul may just be the LEAST racist candidate in America's entire history. His candidacy is based upon the LOVE of freedom and independence.
One problem with such propaganda is...it is EASY to make an accusation, but it is hard to defend against such...and the media knows that and therefore that is how they play. Emotional propaganda allows those in power (the media) to deceive people. Just look at how short your reply is (which makes the accusation) and how long mine is (to defend against it). Emotional statements can be one or two sentences. The truth though requires details. For those that look for the truth though...we can see is not a racist.

The same men who wrote the constitution owned slaves.

Darron, New's flash. Both my ancestors and YOUR ancestors owned slaves. Also, both your ancestors and my ancestors were enslaved as well. History shows both are on both sides. Do we really need to go there...this is history 101...or can we instead simply realize we need to move forward? I prefer to move forward. We can learn from those that came before us...keeping what was good and changing what was not good. So, on that note, rather than promoting hate or other emotional victimized mindsets...let's cut the chase and ask let's ask WHY the US CONSITUTION was written. Those who wrote the Constitution also fought for their own freedoms and wrote it to PREVENT SUPRESSION. The wrote it to ENABLE INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS. They were men though, not perfect gods...meaning they had some good ideas, but they were not perfect. We can learn from them and move forward...or we can live in the past. The choice is for each of us to make. Fortunately, the majority of our country has made great steps forward...but we have some that still live in the past and we have also created a new set of problems along the way (such as socialism type ideas of entitlements). Slavery has been around since the beginning of man. Whites were enslaved to whites in England living under the supression of the king's law. Kings would come into the homes of the pesents who were not allows ownership of land. Everything was owned by the king...who could come into a man's home and take his daughter to be his sex slave or a man's son to be his soldier. And let's not forget, black people were also enslaved by other blacks in Africa. It is time to move forward. Let's not forget both whites and blacks alike fought for freedom side by side and died together. We can learn from the past to prevent the same mistakes being made again in the future. Do you live with the mentality of one who is supressed or one who resists supression? Me personally, I believe in resisting supression...as does the Constitution. I believe in individual rights, as does the Constitution. The only change that should be made to the Constitution is the crossing out of the restrictions that were placed upon blacks...and that has already been done...YEARS ago. It is time to move forward. The best way to do that is to provide equal rights to all people...and the best way to do that is for the Government to stay out of our lives...and to provide equal freedoms to all people. There shouldn't be any special interest programs based upon race. If we want to get rid of racism, we need to stop talking about race. When we talk about race, we promote seperation, which is the mindset of Louis Farrakhan. Louis Farrakhan promotes hate and seperation. I don't agree with his seperation mindset. Neither does Ron Paul. Instead, I prefer the mindset of people like Morgan Freeman, who believes it is time to move forward were those of us who chose to move forward...and it is time to stop talking about race and seperation. Freedom is costly...it costs blood, responsibility, and accountability. Those who live in fear or with a victimized mindset do have have freedom...they have situations. Freedom FIRST begins by removing the bariers that we place upon ourselves. We need to remove our victimized mindsets so we can have peace and view ourselves as empowered so that we may try to better ourselves. We need to remove our hate that constrain us as well as our prejudices that seperate us. Let the facts present themselves. Know people for WHO they are. This very post of mine MAY offend someone who disagrees with me, and while it is possible I may lose a sale as a result...some things are more important.

I never stated that Africans never had slaves I understand that the Africans sold thier slaves to the Europeans, and what was presented in the movie roots was very dramatized to say the least . In Africa they still have slaves under dictators to this day evenmore so than any other continent. I'm not a man of excuses I make my own way I've had my own apt since I was seventeen and never felt bad for myself or had pity on my situation or used the why me card. I've came a long way on my own without handouts, the reason I love fighting mma so much because it's pure you can't lie u have to shut up and do it theres no fairytales. The reason i dont believe in god is because I believe that my life is in my own hands not some super hero in the sky. When somthing bad happens I deal with it I dont get down on my knees and pray for a miracle I stand up like a man and work through it. I knew my mom bought me presents and put money under my pillow I was never the one to believe in the tooth fairy or santa. The reason i brought up the fact that the men who wrote the constitution owned slaves was a rebutal to your argument of looking at his voting records. Voting record dont dipect the whole story at all not even close. For you to bring up the fact that Africans owned slaves had nothing to do with the topic at all, what we were discussing was Ron Paul. I'm not a weak minded person who uses things that happened 100 years ago to make excuses for my situation now and you should know that from our discussions already. And I'm also smart enough to know that all these politictions are scumbags who learned how to play the game, including Barack Obama who many minorities feel is the best thing since sliced bread. And Im also smart enough to realize you dont argue politics or religion because more people have been killed over those two topics than anything else in the history of mankind (maybe you could throw women in there also lol). Lee everyone needs something to believe in wheter it be god the tooth fairy Santa Claus politicions like Ron Paul or Barack Obama. Me personally I believe in my self. And for your argument that we need to move forward thats true, but those that do not know their past are destined to repeat it. And news flash Ron Paul or any other politiction for that matter doesn't give a crap about you or me their trying to get a job and make some money just like you are, thats why you said you might lose a client over this. At least your beliefs weren't compromised over finacial gains like the politiction your defending.Give me a break this guy defenately if not racist is a prejudist man who definately doesnt like gays, and doesn't beliieve in evolution at all. Just because he smart about some things doesn't mean that he's smart about everything.

Also who cares about Louis Farrakan theres plenty of white supremncy groups who preach the same type of hate why didnt you bring them up. Farrakan is a polition just like Ron Paul and the rest of them with his own agenda thats why he had Malcom X killed he's not for black power he's for power just like anyone else in the political field.

Darron, 1st - I didn't mention Louis Farrkakhn for being a "black power." I mentioned him as one proponent of hate. Go back and review my words if you want. And, yes...there are MANY that have similiar "Hitler" type views. 2nd - Indeed, your life is in your hands. God offers us free will. We are not robots forced to live in His will. We all have to work through turmoil...believers and nonbelievers. God doesn't offer handouts of "easy living" to Christians. In fact, I believe a Christian is held to a higher standard. In fact, I believe a Christian that lives outside of God's will is more likely to be held accountable than a non-Christian...as we know better. Of course, we are STILL not perfect nor will we ever be.
You do realize Ron Paul didn't write any of the racial comments in the OLD Constitution. Ron Paul has always supported the INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS aspect of the Constitution for all people. You don't have to take my word for it though. Check his record instead of believing the libel racial accusations you have made here. Don't blame Ron Paul for false accusations. Would it be your fault if someone spread lies about you? I think not. His LIFE has been a testiment for equal rights for all people...even the unborn who have no voice at all. There is no greater minority than the unheard unborn...and he fights against abortion, which some believe was set into place for the purpose of racism. His life is a testiment of his beliefs. I will listen to his actions rather than hateful talk.
Darron, you brought up the aspect of slavery, not me. Ron Paul never owned any slaves, surely you know that. He has always spoken against such and thinks of Martin Luther King, Jr. as a hero. Your arguement again is one of emotion and not well thought out in terms of logic or historical record. Believing in one's self is a good thing, but if that is all one has I regret to inform you that your life will be very unsatisfying. Temporary pleasures do not last.
I disagree. Ron Paul's arguement against entitlements is because he WANTS others to be empowered by the freedom to take care of themselves rather than seeing us move towards socialism. Socialism is a form of parasitism, and Mr. Paul doesn't want people to become parasitic. He, like myself, would like to see people empowered and able to fend for themselves. What better motive to do so than having a country that allows us INDEPENDENCE to do as we wish...so that we may receive the reward (or accountability) for our actions. You are very misinformed and apparently haven't done any PERSONAL research on Ron Paul. Do you want people to judge you without knowing you...or would you rather they look at HOW YOU ACT (voting record) and what YOU say. Check out this interview on "Repent America" where Ron Paul DISAGREES with the Christian host as to gay rights and even goes as far as to say homosexuality should not be held against a person in terms of their "moral substance" despite the Christian host trying to pressure him into stating such. Ron Paul believes a person's private life isn't ANY BUSINESS of the government. But don't believe me...look at HIS voting record and listen to HIS words... Watch this video (#1) to hear his view on this. He says it is NONE of the governments business what sexual orientation a person is. Of course, you are free to believe the hateful talk of those who will play the emotional card to those that will not make an effort to do their own research...OR you are free to actually do some research on the matter. Don't be a blind emotional sheep Darron. Do the research and see the truth.
His view on drugs, prostitution and homosexuality is that those things should be regulated by the INDIVIDUAL (and in SOME cases the state) and not the Federal Government. He also states that he believes the state has should have more power as that is established by LOCAL government.... That is what HE says and that is how HE votes. Watch this video (#2) to hear his view on this. He says the government has NO PLACE in regulating religion or marrage (including gay marrage). Here are his views on this. He was the ONLY republican candidate that was AGAINST having a constitutional ammendment against homosexual marrage. He says and votes on matters of sexuality the state and Fed should stay out of people's private lives Watch this video (#3) to understand this. I regret to inform you that you are VERY misinformed about the man. You have WAY too much emotion on this issue. Perhaps you should go back and review his RECORD and his BELIEFS instead of believing hateful promoted hearsay. Become an educated voter.

I agree with Darron that all (high level) politicians are scumbags. I don't think you can get that far in the politics game without being a scumbag. However, we do have to choose someone from among those scumbags to govern us. I believe Ron Paul is the best candidate for the job. In the end, if all your choices are scumbags, wouldn't you want the person who believes in limiting the power of the government (also comprised of many scumbags at all levels)? The Consitution was designed by our forward thinking founding fathers who pretty much knew that any one who gets in a position of power is corrupt or corruptable. So, they designed our government to be ineffective. That is what our "checks and balances" do. They makes the government ineffective because effectiveness = power. It makes no sense at all to turn over more and more of our resources to a parternalistic government to "manage" for us in the best way they see fit when the government was designed to be inefficient (even if it was populated with great intelligent human beings). Like Darron, I have grown very skeptical of any politician, but I do love the freedoms that were granted to us by the Constitution. I would like to keep those. I will be voting for Ron Paul.

If Darron would have initially made the statement that all government politicians were scumbags...I wouldn't have disagreed with nearly as much effort. That wasn't what he said though. I think Ron Paul's record in both speech, action, and voting record illustrates he is not a "gay hating racist," and I took strong objection to that based upon the man's own statements, his actions, and voting record. His life has been a testiment to otherwise, and we need to be careful about throwing out such hateful accusations. Now, back to the more recent "all politicans are scumbags." While I do not think "ALL" politicians are scumbags, I do certainly agree that so many of them are that it is reasonable to become skeptical of any of them due to being conditioned to that observation. There is reason to have that concern...no doubt. But, as you mention, we do need to vote for the best and on that note, we need to be careful about pre-judging a person without FIRST looking at their voice, life testiment, actions, and voting record. Let's do that before we lump someone into a catagory. There may just be a gem out there amoung the swine after all...and if there is we need to find it. That said, I feel Ron Paul is one of the most honest politicans we have to choose from given his consistency of voice, actions, and voting record...and he is also the most intellectually aware of what direction our government needs in order to re-establish the countries direction...and that is one of limited government that allows people life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness...with the key of all three being the second...and that is LIBERTY. Let people live their lives as they see fit...and keep government out of our personal lives.

Well if we read the real writings of the Founding Fathers we will find many of them were personally against the idea of SLavery but were not capable of finding a way to free the slaves with out crushing the economy... Which would have affected more lives then slavery did. Lets face it, the Declaration of independence does spell out freedom for all men and so does the constitution. Without our constitution one group or another will always use the flawed idea of Democracy to impose its will on another group of people. BTW I am native American and no group in the US has been abused as much by Whitey as my people and yet I recognize the wisdom in the constitution... Also it is worth mentioning that the current welfare system is simply another form of slavery. the most intelligent presidential candidate I have ever heard speak was Allen Keyes and he is black and disgusted how the welfare system has enslaved his people worse then slave owners ever did... As for who to vote for their is no other truly pro constitutional vote other then the Libertarian Party. Both the republicans and the democrats are too power hungry to do anythign good for this country. I would not piss on any of them if they were on fire...

Lee- I agree that calling all politicians scumbags may be a bit of a hasty judgment call. However, I should have probably said it this way, I believe it would be very difficult to get to the presidential level of politics without having some "scumbag" qualities. There are too many special interest groups and too much of the election process has become a political "game" that people have to play the right way to get elected. Because of the way that the game must be played, I think most of the people that wind up being elected end up being scumbags (even if there were honorable men in the running that didn't get elected). I probably should have also said that I don't know enough about Ron Paul personally, to make a judgment about his character. I think 99.9% of the voting public is in the same boat I am. Given that predicament, I have found that assuming that all politicians are scumbags helps me to remove their personality, and their speech "presence" and their general appeal as human beings from the process and just focus on what they say they want to do and how closely their record backs up their rhetoric. In other words, do they have a record of walking the walk after they have talked the talk. In my opinion, that is all that should really matter in the election.

I believe Ron Paul actually does have a record of walking his talk...which is why many consider him extreme. He doesn't just say it, he votes that way. Johnny, I assume you know Ron Paul ran libertarian several years ago. He is going "Republican" now because he knows we have a "two party system." He also goes as far as saying republicans are really republican anymore...and have lost their way...and make up too many laws that they have no constitutional power to enforce. I imagine you are aware of him. I think Ron Paul is as close to a libertarian that we will ever get in any recent future. Should he get in, then maybe the Libertarian Party will become a force to recon with in the future...for he might create a 3rd party system while he is in office. I personally wouldn't be surprised to see that happen.

jhonny i am 100% with you on the libertarian party being the only true pro constitutional vote, ron paul is actually more libertarian than he is republican in my book, that said i think the democrats are notorious for taking constitution and ripping it appart! as if it meens nothing and is no good! democrats are way way worse than republicans in my book, but republicans are dirty to, no other party is as str8 as the libertarian party, i think ron pall has family in the libertarian party and in my book he is more libertarian than republican, not big on polotics but i would consider myself a libertarian, lol jhonny like i heard a comic once say i cant remeber his name, but he said if u dont vote u can complain all you want, people have it backwards, because when one of thoughs idiots gets into office and starts screwing stuff up, well i didnt vote for either one of thoughs idiots....... or something like that!! and didnt know you were native american, i am 25% sue indian.......
