Having a good time exploring the mountains. She seems to be extra alert when out in the wilderness.. I think it may be due to the wild life around and the scent they leave behind. Is that possible?

Thanks Lisa. Yes, she is slowly building up nice lean muscles. She is now 50lbs at 6 months old.

Nico, Just out of curiosity, do u feed her raw meat with dry food like Lee discusses or do you do something else? Thanks

Lisa, at the moment I feed dry food named Canine Caviar (not as expensive as it sounds :)). This is the best food around with all natural ingredients and great nutrition. I also give her a suplement named NUPRO, will probably use that until she reaches 2 years of age. I do want to start feed her raw food twice a week or so and see how that works out...

I'm not sure about the raw meat thing. Not that is does not work or anything it's just a change that I have not implemented. We switched dog food today. I spent 20 minutes at the feed store discussing what I wanted and picking a bag. I am going to try Red Flannel (made by purina) High Energy for hard working dogs. It has 26% protein vice 32%. They carried it in even higher levels of protein but I want to stabilize them with this first and go from there. We are changing their activity too. They stayed in the house 95% of the time but now we are having them spend the night outside and become familiar with their night time surroundings. They are in a concreted pen so they will not be hurt by anything (since they are still young and there are quite a bit of roaming dogs around). We are looking to take them to Lee's sometime in June for an evaluation. It's amazing how different they are. Remington has become a huge powerhouse with lot of pull power and can easily hurt Beretta while playing. Beretta is a speed deamon and snaps her teath very hard and fast. You can hear them hitting together when she snaps. I anxious to see how they do.

Sounds like your dogs are taken care of well and that they are developing nicely!! What's their size at the moment? Have you looked up "Canine Caviar" on line. If you do, please let me know what you think. How old are your dogs by now? You're lucky to have Lee evaluate them for you, you'll be in good hands. I am waiting for my girl to be at least 18-20 months old before I evaluate her, I want her to be fully developed.

Nico, Here are some photos of the dogs. I was trying to take a picture to show you how big he is but I do not think I did a very good job. I thought his kennel pic was hillarious so I posted that for your enjoyment. BTW, disreguard my appearance, I washed cars today for a fundraiser.

Remington was born in August and Beretta July....so 9mo and 10 mo. I will look up your dog food now. Also, just gee whiz, I do not encourage my dogs to stand like I posted in my pics. That was the first time they did that. I don;t want them to jump up at all.

Nico, THat dog food looks great! It actually states its human grade meat (not that I would want to try). I'm guessing you are not feeding the venison at $117 a 30lb bag! I do not think they sell that around here. I noticed the protein levels are even higher than what I was feeding at the 32%. Unfortunately I do not have the empty schedule to take my dogs on as long of hikes as you either. I'm sure your dog loves that!

Don't worry about the dogs running and/or jumping. Let them excercise as much as they want. Have you ever worked them with a flirt pole?

They look great, and yes your boy looks huge, more like a bear...lol His paws and head are enormous, beautiful boy. Your girl reminds me of mine with the markings and all. Yes, the food is one of the best one I found around here, and she loves it too. The hikes, well I am trying to make the time for her and me, helps with the stressful life we live in Los Angeles...lol
