Hello everybody I'm new to the forum. I live in Oshawa Ontario and in Ontario we have a stupid "PITBULL". I use to breed pitbull back in the day. I have now a Olde English Bulldogge. I have been look on line at the Bandog and I was wondering what breeds could I start looking at to start my own bloodline. I know it's not going to happen over and it will take years to do so. I was hoping to use my Olde some where in the breed program somewhere. She is a big girl, big for her breed standards. I was also looking at getting a Cane Corso/American Bulldog that have papers and start with that first and some way somehow breed this pup to a Pitbull. Then take a male pup from that litter and breed it to my Olde Again I'm trying to do my homework and try to find the best way to breed a good al around Bandog. any help would be great from anyone Thanks Kevin

"Some where, Some how" "Big female" "Own blood line"... I think you need a little more than just doing home work.

I completely agree with Nico. While I can't totally condem starting your own program, I can ask why or what is your goal. Crossing something just to make a mix is pointless. What is your reason? If you don't have a long term goal, then this breeding would be pointless. A friend, David Ishi, in describing breeding programs stated..."if your not heading somewhere, you're heading no where." I completely agree with him in that quote.

Member Posts: 57 | The breed itself used is important, but more so the indivdidual dogs used as the foundation. Do they perform at the task required of them.? Are they healthy? are they smart? As the men wisely stated above, what are ur goals for this bandog? What worries me is that u ask about what breeds to use before stating the purpose of the dog in mind. These dogs are not bred for looks or just to know u have the latest designer cross, but strictly for a purpose. They should not be bred unless they perform at t&is purpose. I am not a breeder, yet, but i have been planning breeding my own dogs for at least 10yrs. Take ur time. The ideal dog for u may already exist. The dogs on this kennel probably exceed your expectations...they do mine. Talk to breeders, ask questions and be ready and willing to learn. Grace and peace.
