hey guys ,

I had a question for those of you who work your dogs..do you think your dogs could be distracted  by food? like say a potential crimminal wanted to break in your home or walk in your yard and they had a big juicy steak or some food item would your dog take it? I just wanted to know if you all specifically trained your dogs to not take food from strangers as it could be poison.. ive seen a few working and non working dogs who go throguh a training designed to teach them not to take food from strangers. With my dog nestle i just raised her to be standoffish from strangers before i did any pp work with her so she wont even let any stranger come near her to pet her. and ive staged scenarios to see if she would take food from strangers ..and as longs as i was there she didnt touch it but im not 100%sure  if she would go for the steak if im not around.

I have some dogs that will NOT even think about it, then I have others that have been more socialized and would be less suspicious as a result.

This depends upon both their natural genetic instinct and training.
