Chimera Kennels

I'm a bandog breeder, I've bred hunting dogs almost all my life, but I've been so inspired by the bandog that I never plan to have another breed. My goal as a breeder is to recreate the mastiff as the warrior it once was. My goal in appearance is to have dogs from 150 to170 pounds about 30 inches to the shoulder with tight skin and a blocky pit-like head. My goal in temperament is a calm social dog with enough defense drive to know a threat when he sees it and enough nerve to stay calm while attacking if need be. My goal for health is to use hybrid vigor and selection to recreate the giant working molosser as it was, a warrior. It's hard to march to war with displasia and it's hard to fight a war if you're drowning in your own wrinkles. Mastiffs are some of the greatest dogs that have ever been and modern show breeding has robbed them of their greatness.  I intend to give it back to them.
