We ARE taking orders for the Built2Last nylon Leashes & collars, but production is limited to 5 items per week, as we make these in our spare time.
Available in Red or Black
To determine collar length, measure the dog's neck and add THREE inches.
Heavy Nylon Collar (3+ ply made with one continuous belt) - $39.95
Heavy Nylon Collar w/ built in handle (3+ ply made with one continuous belt) - $49.95
(This collar is great for the home PP dog or a dog that works out in the field)
Heavy Nylon Leash (2 ply full length with opposing 4 ply innerlap/overlap at buckle) - $29.95
Our method of using ONE CONTINUOUS BELT (which runs down, back, down, and back again) in our HEAVY DUTY nylon collars prevents any stress on the stitching as both ends are secured by the double prong buckle. This is because once the buckle is placed onto the dog with the prongs placed into the holes, the HARDWARE holds both ends. The D-Ring wouldn't need to even be stitched into place as long as the collar runs through it. Our nylon collar design consists of FOUR layers between the buckle and D-ring, with 2 layers running around the buckle and back, THREE layers running OVER the D-Ring and all the way to the end...with both prongs securing this tail end of the collar. This is UNLIKE most other buckle forward designs that do not use one continuous belt.
Don't be fooled into thinking the D-Ring should be forward of the buckle on an aggitation collar. That design layout is inferior, for as the collar ages, the stresses of a lunging dog pull the buckle into the stitching...eventually leading to failure. When that happens, the buckle slips upto the D-ring and then the collar is several inches larger, enabling the dog to slip the collar...which can lead to potential disaster.
Also, don't be fooled by multi-layered collars that are not one continuous belt. They place stress on the stitching since both ends of the belt are not secured by the buckle...and over time these collars can and do fail.
Additionally, there is little need for a multi-layered collar if it relies on a single pronged buckle. I personally have had a large dog bend the prong on a single prong collar, so we no longer use such buckles. We only use Buckles and D-rings with welded hardware (no open ends) and all of our buckles are double pronged.
