Land's Caesar

Land's Caesar is an excellent English Mastiff that we found several years ago. We tested this dog's abilities for PP work and found him to be a very impressive specimen not only in appearance, but in working drives and stable temperament. The dog will be friendly to welcomed guests, great kids and family with a happy social temperament, but will not allow a stranger onto the property while the owner/family is absent (tested and proven). His protective instinct is strong, but at the same time the dog has a completely stable temperament. Caesar is well put together, unbelievably powerful, very healthy, confident, and in many ways perfectly represents what an English Mastiff is all about...as he truly is a working class Mastiff.  Caesar not only is a companion guardian, but is also a very playful, stable, and friendly dog with the family (as seen here). He is very easily motivated which unfortunately is a rarity in the Mastiff population. We used this dog as a stud to our female APBT named Snaps to produce Raven. Some time later we ended up purchasing Caesar and bred him to Lynn, Bandit, and most recently Bullette. We are fortunate to have been able to aquire this dog, as well as Eclipse, and use them in our program. Finding Mastiffs like him and Eclipse has been an essential step and major reason for the success of our program...as this is one powerful dog! Recently, we sold Caesar under a "co-ownership" contract to my friends Johnny and Mary Courville from Loyal Guard Kennels. I estimate Caesar to be about 30" at the withers and approximately 155-160# (He was reported to be 170# when I got him, but was a little overweight IMO). Click HERE to watch Caesar do a little protection work.

Here is what Butch Cappel, founder of K9PS had to say about Caesar. "Caesar is as good a protection dog as I have come across, and I have come across more than a couple. I have also come across a few English Mastiffs that have been trained in PP work. In fact in 2005 & 06 Louis Williams of Cal. had an English Mastiff finishing near the top at the Championships. I have seen EM's do PP. Caesar, I feel, is the best EM I have run across. Full bites and no trouble Crushing a bite bar sleeve. When he hits, you wonder if you picked up a puppy sleeve by mistake. His energy level is off the charts, and the intensity he puts into a fight, is not what you expect from a dog slightly lighter than a Brahma bull."

Caesar's hip X-ray - Excellent (and the best my vet has ever seen on a mastiff).
